Frequently Asked Question

Can I ordain others?
Last Updated 7 years ago

As an ordained minister in good standing with the Open Ministry, you are authorized and encouraged to ordain others. In fact, it is one of the most important roles you can play as a minister. The ordination "ceremony" itself, if any, is up to you.

You could put on your finest robes and cassock and have an elaborate ceremony or you can make it as informal as you like.

However before the ordination is considered legal, it must be recorded in our churches registry and directory. The best way to make sure that we have your ministers name in our records is to have them submit their application on our website before or after your ceremony (if you choose to have one).

Please note: You are not authorized to ordain others without their consent and permission, and that when an ordination is submitted, confirmation will be sent to the email address confirming that it has been received and once they have obtained credentials it will be reviewed and recorded.
